Chinese Engagement usually divided into 2 types of event which usually known as :

Tinjing Ceremony
is an event that held by the Male's core family
Purpose of this event itself was to proposing the Bride to be by asking permission to her family
This event usually celebrated in larger scale when the bride and groom will be held the wedding reception more than a year ahead

Sangjit Ceremony
is an event that held by the Female's families
Purpose of this event itself was to get to know both sides of the families member, to check they were all having a good and reliable "blood" background.
This event usually celebrated in larger scale when the wedding reception will be held in another city or country

  • Participated by more than the core families

  • Followed by encircle jewelry to symbolize an everlasting bond

        [ bracelet / necklace / ring ]

  • Only participated by both parents and the bride and groom to be

  • While some have other beliefs of these participants should be
